Approach a case also from the other person’s perspective in order to reach a solution

About me

Tjesse studied Management, Economics and Law (with a specialization in Real Estate) at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, followed by Dutch Law (specialization in Business Law) at the University of Groningen. In 2004, he began his career as a legal counsel at a small law firm in Bolsward and was admitted to the bar that same year. From 2010 onwards, he worked at a mid-sized firm in Heerenveen, where he specialized in family law.

As of September 1, 2025, he has joined Customs Knowledge as an attorney. Here, he combines his own family law practice with work in the field of customs law.

Clients know him for his solution-oriented and practical approach, backed by strong legal expertise. He guides clients through the legal (im)possibilities and works with them step by step toward a resolution. In family law matters, Tjesse values a de-escalating approach, in line with his professional duty.

Outside of work, Tjesse is an active member of Rotary Club Heerenveen, serving as treasurer since mid-2025. He is a true family man at heart. On weekends, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children—and the dog. He is also passionate about sports, including running, body fitness training, skiing, and snorkeling. Hiking, reading, attending concerts, and sharing good meals with family or friends bring him joy as well.

Tjesse is registered in the legal practice areas of Family Law and General Civil Law in the register of the Dutch Bar Association. Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits each calendar year in each registered legal field, in accordance with the standards of the Bar.
