About me
Since May 2025, Bart Heerkens has been working as a customs consultant at Customs Knowledge. He focuses in particular on the Union Customs Code (UCC), customs procedures, formalities, internal control measures, and the optimization of business processes.
Previously, Bart spent nine years working for Dutch Customs, where he gained broad experience and specialized in the field of Special Procedures. In 2023, he completed the Master’s program in Customs & Supply Chain Compliance at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
In his free time, Bart enjoys traveling and is active in padel, running, and fitness. When the weather is nice, he also takes out his road bike, mostly around the Burgundian city of Den Bosch, where he lives with his girlfriend.
